Nothing Has Changed, Everything Is Just Deeper, Wider and Faster

What has really changed in the post-Internet and digitalization era? What’s the future?

Let me start with a controversial statement: the Internet and digitization in recent decades haven’t changed qualitative aspects of our society, lifestyle or culture.

There are big changes, of course, but they are mainly in the quantitative aspect of our lives.

In other words, everything is the same, it’s just deeper, wider, and faster.

And these three variables, are changing everything. They are changing even some qualitative aspects of our lives.

Yes, a qualitative property can change after some quantitative value increases or decreases. There is a critical point in any process.

When you heat water, its qualitative properties don’t change until it boils and becomes vapor.

But the distinction is relevant because it helps to clarify the reason for the recent transformations in humanity and future changes.
